Somewhere between perranporth and legoland

Looking for somewhere between perranporth and Lego land to spend the weekend with almost 5yo & baby. Preferably on the coast.

At the moment in England you can't. We are still in lockdown. Nowhere is open. It is bloody freezing, why the hell would you want to go to the coast ?

Googles where Perranporth is, says ahhh yes it sounds like Cornwall.

The thing is are you going from this place to Legoland for the day so you want to be close or are you staying at/ near Legoland the night before ? There are some big towns, but are a bit off the quickest route and do you want something beachy again and something to do or not?

We've stopped at Torbay, Bristol and Winchester on our way to Cornwall as we live near to Lego Land.

Keep meaning to do Diggerland in Devon too.
