Summer holidays for 4 year old and newborn

Looking for ideas for a UK holiday.. preferably by the beach, with activities a 4 year old will enjoy.

We've been to a few havens and enjoyed them but looking for something different.

Home Farm Cottages, North Norfolk

Coombe Mill near Bodmin / /Wadebridge is great. Self catering accommodation on a farm. Tractor ride every morning to feed animals. Lots of play stuff on the farm. You can pay to use pool at holiday park 2 minutes up the road. You do need to drive to beaches though.

What about North Wales?
Loads to see and do, its quite compact too so the Beach and the mountains are not far apart. All the usual sea side stuff but plenty of other attractions
Liverpool is also a good destination, nice city, Parks, Knowsley Safari Park, Chester and its Zoo?
