My little boy played with the lights in the back of my car that I didn’t know about until yesterday when I went to drive to school and find my car won’t start, battery is dead. My partner said he will jump it, we go buy jump leads and off he goes, except a big spark from my battery appeared then smoke and small flames! We got it out, tried again but nothing at all! Where as before that you could hear a small attempt of a start, but since this spark nothing at all. Any ideas please before I spend a fortune I don’t have on a mechanic

Did you do positive to positive or positive to negative with the jump leads?

Sounds like you may need a new battery. Do you have a battery chrager ?. Call the AA if you have membership. Certain credit and debit cards have this as part of the package.

Sounds like you shorted it.
Know anyone with a battery you can borrow?

Did you jump it the wrong way?
