Am trying to book two weeks for next summer's holiday now - but already they are all booked up! The companies allocate them to people who've booked before - so the slots never come up. We are lucky to have one week in Trevone right at the beginning (18 July) but can't find anything for two weeks. Anyone go to North Cornwall here? Where do you book and who with?

clandestine that looks nice! I've been to Kynance, I'll have to go and look on the map to see where this is. I think we'll go with Trevone for the moment (if only because if we don't take it we'll never get back "on the list" for Trevone again) and look for a week somewhere else later on.

Oh heck sorry florence, we have just rebooked the cottage we were at this year for the first 2 weeks of next yr's hol.

In fact the owners rang me up about a month ago - thinking about it, it was actually during the summer hols still - to see if we wanted it.

Yes Marina I have heard French gite for price of one week in UK.

We are a logn way from south coast tho.

That Coverack cottage looks nice, I went there (to Coverack, not the cttage!) on hols once and loved it.

Am from North Devon originally and highly recommend it. As other posters say, Saunton is usually less crowded tha Woolacombe and Croyde. As is Putsborough beach, though it is a fag to get to down country lanes.

Try Marsdens Cottage Holidays - local company that has a load of stuff on the books. And don't be concerned about staying in the popular villages, you could get a good deal in Braunton or Georgeham - they are only within a couple of miles from the beach.
