Short hike/camp for mum, child and dog...

Hi,
I'd like to do a short hike/camp with my daughter and dog. I've trekked in the past and she enjoyed some of the walking we did in the summer. This is meant to be a gentle kid-friendly adventure.

We'd like to go on Friday and Saturday night soon before it gets too cold.
My husband has agreed to drop us off somewhere within 40 mins of Bristol.
We'd like to stay in a campsite, then walk about 6-8 miles the next day, along a recognised trail (So far I've been looking at small sections of the Cotswold Way or Offa's Dyke trails good signposts, so no likelihood of getting lost) and stay in another campsite on Saturday night then finish with a shortish walk on the Sunday to somewhere where my husband can pick us up.

All suggestions very gratefully received!!

Are you planning to carry everything like your tent, food, toiletries etc.... on your Saturday walk between the campsites?

Yes, but also planning pub dinners and the tent is light
