S London to M11 - best route?

Leaving S London at 3.45 ish today:
South Circular - Dartford crossing
South Circular Blackwall tunnel
Up through London (rotherhithe tunnel or Tower Bridge / east London / A12

which will be the least traffic-jammed, and quickest?

I go through E London to the A12 usually, but this might be rammed on a Fri afternoon....

I've got to rush out now but you know I love doing routes through/round London

whatever you decide, check the AA travel news or BBC before you go. On the AA one, you can put in the road or area - if you do the area, click on the map so it zooms in and you get a better idea of what's going on (also transport for london has a good site on its 'road users' bit which shows the level of congestion around London)

LOL sections of both look bad...will go through ondon, I think! It's a shorter route miles-wise.

At that time, I'd risk the Blackwall missus
Most of the traffic is heading the other way in the evening
And that A102M relief road thingy is usually v. g. to get you onto M11

Avoid A12, go round M25 onto A11.

not A11, M11.

Really? OK - I thought the S Circular and the route to the M11 via dartford or balckwall would be awful at the friday exodus...

I have never done blackwall and 102 relief rd...will try it!

Probably too late now, but last time I did it on a Friday, Blackwall tunnel was chocker - Dartford tunnel was OK though.

Have to say that these mixed suggestions are confirming the 'no-win, no right answer' nature of any getting out of London on a Fri dilemma!

Oh well - for better for worse, off I go...S Circular, anyway!
