Seaside cottage - where?

If you had £300-£400k to spend on a seaside cottage, where would you look?

Requirements are 3+ bedrooms, 15 minutes walk of a sandy beach, within 2-3 hours travel time from London and railway station.

@SmileTolerantly. Good point, though it would mostly be DH doing it, not me, so maybe wouldn't matter so much Grin.

Formby in Merseyside. The travel time is slightly more than 3 hours but it's a lovely beach and you get a lot for your money.

Vicarage Lane, Felpham, Bognor Regis, PO22

This is close to the prom and beach.

Formby beach is lovely but quite a distance from the beach.

Oooh I like the garden on the Felpham one... It has a holiday "feel" to it.

Is this to live in or leave empty the majority of the year?

heavycupcakeuser · 19/08/2020 21:34

For next few years, it would mostly be for weekends and holidays (DH is tied into his work till then). My parents aren't in great health so we want to make the most of the time we've got with them and holidays abroad are difficult. After that, we might look to relocate. We've both always wanted to live by the sea and would love to bring up DC in a more relaxed environment.

Sheringham is indeed lovely , but I wouldn’t touch the train line through Norwich . I’d drive to Kings Lynn and go straight into Kings Cross . Much much much more reliable . You could do that for any where on the North West Norfolk coast . In fact somewhere like Heacham for example would work
