Can anyone help brainstorm where I could go that's not sold out or earth shatteribgly expensive.

I need to get out of the house for a while with my boys (a toddler and a teen). Not tent camping. Have car so can drive but live East Yorkshire.

I just need headspace, not in danger or anything. Ideally not super expensive. If DP could have had his moment of clarity that our relationship sucks anytime OTHER than the 6 weeks hols that would have been slightly better.

Maybe a static caravan or similar?

Try a holiday park, parc resorts near Bridlington isn't posh but kids liked it

frustrationcentral · 18/08/2020 16:29

I'd try and holiday park, you should be able to get something cheap and cheerful and there's usually some sort of entertainment for the children. What about Scarborough/Whitby direction? Or Lincs coast? We stayed at Skipsea sands a few years ago and it was pretty ropey but did the job

I hope you're ok xx

Try airbnb.co.uk. Still quite a bit of availability when I looked earlier Smile

Static caravan (we're in one in Wales now 😀). Scotland gets very cheap from next week because their schools go back before ours. Enjoy 👍

Premier Inn offer good deals on family rooms, their beds are so comfortable and if you choose a city break like York or Durham your teen could find lots to do while you and the toddler potter about.
I put in Edinburgh for 9 nights and there were lots of opportunities around £450. With a car you’re pretty flexible but obviously there are no catering facilities. www.premierinn.com/gb/en/home.html

Or try cottages.com

emmathedilemma · 19/08/2020 12:10

Try Scotland because the schools have already gone back. Static caravans are probably your cheapest option.

If you consider Scotland, beware of the midge!

emmathedilemma · 19/08/2020 12:18

Haven site at Seton Sands has caravans for £345 for 7 nights starting on Saturday. It won't be glamorous but there's a beach across the road and it's on the bus route into Edinburgh.

YourHandInMyHand · 19/08/2020 16:56

Thanks everyone will have a look at holiday sites!
