Has anyone done this? There doesn't seem to be much info on the website on what actually happens.

Video here on YouTube. It’s from 2014 but things can’t have changed much

Doh! I didn't think of that. Blush

Wow, that looks rather disappointing...

I don't know what I expected but it wasn't that.

Both the film and Poison Gardens tours I'd recommend and are included in the entry fee. There's also a nice Italian in the town that's worth booking.

We did it a few years ago (well rather my sister, niece and DD did). The man in charge picked on my Dsis and had her up to do the demonstration. It was hilarious but I can see that it might be a little disappointing for some people. I think it also depends on who is in charge. The guy who did it when we were there was very funny.

The sword fighting and soap making were much better although I did manage to get a photo of my niece which made it look as if she was actually flying!

Unfortunately a lot of the usual events are not happening at Alnwick because of covid.

We did it a few years ago and it was a lot of fun!

We did it a year ago with DCs 9&7. They loved it. It was a fun half hour. Also loved Alnwick Gardens and the poison garden tour.

We’ve been the last 2 summers with our kids (now 10&almost 6). The staff are all in costume & act as teacher & have you running about on broomsticks like crazy loons. It was a bit silly but the kids thought it was hilarious & they often talk about it. You take pictures at the end of you ‘flying’ which are also a giggle to look back on.

If you can go during wizarding week (last year was last week of August) they also do a little sketch performance with Dumbledore & Harry which is great fun to watch.
