What time do the car parks start to get busy? It was SO hard to find anywhere to stay that I'm worried about how busy it will be...

We have quite a few friends around Holkham who've said car parks were full by mid morning. One in, one out. £4 to park for the day I believe.

Wells is heaving by mid morning. My friend said social distancing not possible on Staithe Street. Car parks pretty much full all day. My sister went to Holkham and turned around, went to Brancaster instead. In 40 years I've never seen it so busy.

Heaving and awful. The roads are shocking.

Yes, I have a relative who lives in a nearby village who I stay with on a regular basis. We spend a lot of time in the area - at least once a month for last three years or so- and I've never seen it as busy as the last couple of weeks. The 'feel' of the place is totally different at the moment.

@chloworm Brancaster was heaving a couple of weekends ago too. Our go to beach is Thornham which given that you have to walk about a mile from the harbour to get to the beach is normally empty- again, busy busy!

I was at Holkham last friday when it was roasting. We arrived about 9.30am and had to park in the overflow car park. Yes, there were lots of people around but it was easy to keep a safe distance as the beach is so huge.
