Same as @Jennygentle my and DH have booked two nights in harrogate to see my grandmother.

'Tis glamping on a private tidal island in the Blackwater Estuary. Have been before and it was fab. Looks like they've still got availability in August from their website.

Scottish schools go back soon so should be plenty available in Scotland at the end of August

Try Air BnB what is your budget, areas are you thinking of, how far are you willing to travel, do you have a dog, what do you like to do on holidays?

We have booked a cottage with Air BnB in the the east coast of Scotland for when Scottish kids have gone back to school, we have two teens and a dog (so need more room and lots of the nicer places don’t allow dogs).

Just booked the Lake District for this week, family rooms available. Doubt everywhere is booked later in the month

I’m also looking with little success. Our budget is tight, £1K and I haven’t managed to find any nice accommodations.

If you're willing to travel you might have more chance in Scotland as the schools are going back on the 11th August.

Norfolk seems completely booked for everything- we tried for weeks to find a campsite have ended up going for Yorkshire dales. I think coastal holidays are pretty much impossible to find now especially with the good weather but you'll have more luck going inland with a drive to the coast
