Hi looking to book a 3 day trip to edimburgh early August with 2 teenage dds 15&13
Just after some ideas of things to do given all the restrictions ? Me and dh last went pre kids about 18 yrs ago but dds haven’t

Not interested in museums etc - happy to see castle but after a bit more excitement really!

Any nearby trips or events? We like many things but they won’t thank me for anything ‘educational’!
They’ll be happy shopping and eating but could do with a couple half day things - anything very local? It’s a 4 hr drive to get there so ideally don’t wanna drive to much when there

Thanks!

@midnightstar66 I am honestly not sure. I am a proper rule sticker and the signs said not to do anything to risk needing help. However we went at lowest lowest tide and given how busy it was I thought it was ok. I would be/am horrified if I thought we were doing something we shouldn’t. I was more shocked at the people queuing for toilets/ice cream. My brother said the same as you though.

When I was there last week there was a big red sign blocking the start of the path saying 'causeway closed' so if that wasn't there then you are probably fine!

OK thanks - I feel better now. Definitely no closed signs that we saw!

What’s Edinburgh like at present? Are shops bars and restaurants open? Is it busier? Don’t want it to be completely dead and I’m planning trip this week thanks

Yes, most shops and restaurants open. I found Princes street quieter than normal but not dead, restaurant I went to was busier than normal for a Tuesday afternoon but I think eat out to help out scheme is behind it.

Sorry to jump on the thread but any suggestions for a day in Glasgow? Thinking of getting the train over for the day from Edinburgh. @IKEA888 any suggestions for things to do with teens? Thank you
