Any good ideas on what to do in London this weekend? We have science museum and stock car racing but need some other plans - cheaper the better. Will be staying south of the river

Nt sure where you are staying but the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill is great for children. Or maybe Battersea Park?

If you know which borough you are staying in then you could have a look at or ask in the relevant MN Local site.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Now, given the choice between gazing at that bloody old fleabitten stuffed walrus at the Hornimann and getting the train into town for the FREE Natural History Museum, I know which I would do!

If the weather is very good - the Pricess Diana Memorial Playground in ...oh, what park is it in?. The Maritime Museum in Greenwich is good for children - you can get there by boat (which isn't free) but I THINK the museum is free and often has good children's activities on during the day.

You can easily do a whole day in the science museum and the Natural history museum - both free - but they have expensive food, so take sandwiches.

If you are near Wimbledon, check out what is on at Polka theatre? If you are near the S Bank, check out the IMAX? For early evening or if wet.

Where is S London, then we can think about the places that will be easiest for transposrt.
