Overnight stopover -London to Cornwall

Hello all
After waving goodbye to any chance of realistically going abroad this year, we (Myself, husband,daughter,13 and son 4) have booked a five night stay in Cornwall staying at the sands resort hotel and spa. It's a longer drive than I thought so we are not looking to stretch our holiday to 7 nights by stopping over somewhere for two nights on the way. We are normally the two weeks abroad, all inclusive type so this will be a different holiday and we are looking forward to the chance to appreciate and experience a different type of holiday. Any suggestions of where to stopover. I quite fancy a glamping style location but a nice cottage or even hotel would be good too.

Thank you

WashingPool Farm, Bridport. Dorset.

A lot of the Glamping sites have a 2 or 3 night minimum stay this year because of the faff involved in cleaning and quarantining the accommodation between guests.
Newcourt Barton is really handy B&B as it’s just a few miles from the M5. It’s got family rooms. Smallicombe Farm B&B is a little bit out of your way, but the kids will love it as there’s a great play area (with trampoline) and they get to meet the farm animals
Beeches Farmhouse also has family rooms.

I would look at Bath. Maybe a nice BnB? The sands resort is lovely but obviously very beachy and away from decent towns / culture. You may find 2 days around the Bath area compliments it nicely.

Thank you for your suggestions. Off to check them out. Most places fully booked so fingers crossed.

I was going to suggest Bath too but Wookey Hole Hotel in the Mendip Hills is a great stopover too - has got the Wookey Hole caves that accept Tesco clubcard vouchers and makes a good day out. This will be the second year ever l haven't been to Cornwall,am 43 so done the journey from the south east many times! Enjoy, it is lovely. Whereabouts are you staying in Cornwall?
