Luxury Hotel North East

Recently moved to the North East. Would like a stay in a luxury hotel (big baths/balcony or garden area/just really bloody nice) but can't seem to find anything online

Any suggestions?

Slaley Hall, or some of the lovely ones in Northumberland.

Lumley castle

LatteLover12 · 10/07/2020 15:22

Walwick Hall

Matfen Hall

Rockliffe Hall

Seaham Hall

All beautiful ❤️

doadeer · 10/07/2020 15:23

Matfen Hall! Yes that's nice

2155User · 10/07/2020 15:24

Never heard of any of these! Thank you both so much

I second Warwick Hall. We stayed in their self catering houses last year and went up to the hotel for dinner / swimming. I definitely want to stay there sometime!!

My favourite place in the world to go is Newton hall. They only do hotel nights as mainly a wedding venue but absolutely lovely. The rooms are themed so all different.

They also own the joiners arms and some of the bedrooms for the joiners are in the annex of the hotel.

Short stroll to the beach as well.

Blueuggboots · 10/07/2020 15:28

Langley castle looks stunning.

Ricekrispie22 · 10/07/2020 15:30

Rudding Park and Grantley Hall if you want stunning grounds.

2155User · 10/07/2020 15:40

Ahh I went to a wedding at Newton Hall last year, I didn't realise you could stay there as well!

Another vote for Seaham Hall - stunning!

icedaisy · 10/07/2020 15:45

Yes if you look on website under hotel nights you will get upcoming dates. Get on the mailing list as well because they do some amazing offers. This weekend was one night free. Joiners is doing 90 per person dinner B and B excluding weekends.

You get cocktails in room, cocktail on arrival as well. Really good.

@icedaisy

Oh how funny, divvy me just realised that when we attended the wedding, we actually stayed at the joiners pub down the road and only now I recall do I remember how lovely it was!

Ha. We did two nights at joiners one at Newton hall pre baby. Refusing to go back till I can enjoy a glass of wine in that lovely garden again. (Pregnant).

Happy place. I got up and went to beach and watched sunrise. Was back in room before sh even noticed I had gone!

I’ve heard good things about this place & Walwick Hall.

otterbaby · 10/07/2020 15:55

Used to work at Seaham Hall. Look at their Ada Lovelace suite - stunning. Their spa is great too.

sweetheartyparty · 10/07/2020 15:58

Rockliffe Hall near Darlington, the spa is fabulous

myrtleWilson · 10/07/2020 15:58

Is Jesmond Dene still nice? Not heard anyone mention it for ages...

2155User · 10/07/2020 18:25

Wow, there was me thinking I would get a couple of responses at best!
All this money I've saved during lockdown will now be spent

OP posts:
LatteLover12 · 10/07/2020 18:44

Jesmond Dene hotel is alright but there's no pool and I think the rooms are a bit dated now.

The food is good though and it's close to the dene and the city centre if people prefer that to going a bit further out for a stately home.

The Joiners Arms does fab food too 😍

AHF1975 · 10/07/2020 19:03

Def Warwick Hall
Def not Slaley Hall Grin

myrtleWilson · 10/07/2020 20:20

Don't think I've been to JDH for about 10 years!

I would exclude Lumley - its all armoured statues - but supposedly haunted if thats your thing.

DD and I have an occasional afternoon tea thing we try to do - can recommend both Seaham and Rockliffe in that regard (Seaham was better).

NEE1302 · 10/07/2020 20:24

The Impeccable Pig in Sedgefield has some fantastic rooms if you want to splash out, and the menu is good too.

2155User · 10/07/2020 21:42

@NEE1302

Wow. Oh wow. That is my kind of hotel!

It's only 30 mins from me... perfect

sweetheartyparty · 11/07/2020 10:49

The impeccable pig looks gorgeous, I live only 20 mins away and had no idea it was so nice

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/07/2020 11:04

Swinton Park in North Yorkshire.
