Hello all. I am trying to find somewhere for a family weekend away for my mum's 70th (Covid restrictions etc permitted). She's had a tough time being a carer for my father without anything else in her life during lockdown.
The group will be 5 adults (including disabled dad) and one toddler and I'm looking at Lake District/ Peak District areas.
Requirements are:
- good location for local attractions
- if a stand-alone house or cottage, we'd need catering or takeaways/nice pubs very close by (I'd happily cook but my mum is keen for us all to relax!). Anything more than a few minutes drive away would be too difficult for my dad to manage.
- if a hotel, ideally one that has apartments with living room space so that we can be together in the evening and have somewhere to hang out in the day with my dad (as opposed to in separate hotel rooms).
I can find plenty of lovely houses and hotels but none that fit all of the above!
Can anyone recommend a good place?
