I had planned a summer holiday to London for July, traveling from Northern Ireland. The original plan would have included natural history museum and science museum, maybe tower of London, Diana Princess of Wales play park..... basically all the tourist attractions of interest to children.

I know we don't know yet what will be open..... but looking opinions on what is likely to be open (NI regulations are different) and also what to do if the indoor stuff isn't open.

Hi there, there will be things open in London in July, although the advice currently is to avoid public transport unless it is an essential journey. If you plan to drive the congestion charge has increased and is now daily, so you may wish to pick places outside of the Congestion Charge/ULEZ area. The NHM and Science Museum haven't announced opening dates yet but it is likely to be in August. The National Gallery and Wallace Collection are both reopen in July, although I wouldn't say they're as family friendly. The Cutty Sark is good and reopening in July with free child tickets for each paying adult. There is still plenty of places to visit as a family, especially if you are happy to go off the beaten track. We are a London family and I blog about culture over at museummum.com. Since lockdown has eased we have enjoyed trips to London Zoo, Wakehurst, Polesden Lacey and Scotney Castle, all by car. In July we're planning trips to Audley End, Kew Gardens, Chartwell and Hever Castle - the last one is particularly good and will have its great playgrounds reopened by 4 July. Hope this helps - I'm active on Instagram so come find me to see more pics of our days out and to ask any questions. Hope this helps!
