Huh?!? Why would anyone go to Centreparcs if the pool/spa was shut?

Hmm what's the point?

They're opening next week but not pools/spas

Surely without a what, 90% discount people would be seriously complaining if they'd booked and there were no facilities

OP posts:

I hate swimming and have a swimming pool/changing room phobia (slimey floors, strands of wet hair etc) so would avoid the pool like the plague!

Bum sex.
(Old thread if you are new here).

TellMeItsNotTrue · 29/06/2020 05:16

They weren't going to give any compensation, just said you could cancel or move your break

That didn't go down well so they've now offered £100 discount if you want to move your break (but if the price is higher you still pay the difference) which was offered while the parks were closed but had been stopped for when they open

Also if you go ahead with your break you get a refund based on size of villa -
1 bedroom lodge - £100
2 bedroom lodge – £125
3 bedroom lodge - £150
4 bedroom lodge - £175

People still aren't happy as there is no difference depending on type of lodge / how much you've spent etc, and it doesn't seem to be different depending on length of stay, but most are happy with that now that they are at least offering something

We were to be going today! So disappointing but with no pool, no point.

Oblomov20 · 29/06/2020 06:11

We are going to our caravan. There isn't even a pool, but we would normally take ds's to the local water park with slides etc.

Dh said he wanted to go. For a change of scenery if nothing else. Surely you can get that OP. That's my point.

We've all been cooped up in our houses, not able to go more than a mile or so, for the last 3 months.

I get why people want to go away. Even if not all facilities are in offer.

TrufflyPig · 29/06/2020 06:43

Depends what you’re into I guess. I’m assuming you can still make the most out of the outdoor activities plus it’s a change of scenery. I wouldn’t pay full price of not everything was open though.

MindyStClaire · 29/06/2020 07:35

I guess you could still have a nice time, just getting away, ordering food rather than cooking, maybe seeing extended family etc. We were meant to go in May, DD is only 2 so she wouldn't miss the pool. But I still think we would've cancelled if our trip was now.

I realised this thread is slightly old but I’m just back from a break in CenterParcs with no pool and it was brilliant! The park was at 25% capacity according to one of the staff? Activities were easy to book and there were no crowds anywhere. Between booked activities, cycling and exploring the forest we had loads to do. Also only ParcMarket and Treats open so didn’t have the kids wanting to spend money on crap in the shops Smile
We’ve never actually been when the pool is open and would like to go back some time but I think of we do we’ll end up feeling annoyed at the number of people there Smile

WoahBodyforrrm · 22/07/2020 17:33

@pearpickingporky84 Glad to hear you had such a lovely time! Were the restaurants open, I’m seriously considering a break.

ImperfectTents · 22/07/2020 17:59

@pearpickingporky84 how was the bum sex

pearpickingporky84 · 22/07/2020 18:45

@WoahBodyforrrm Yes they’re open and we’re half empty while we were there! You do need to book in advance but it can be done on your phone and we did it half an hour before eating a couple of times. They are planning to have takeaway options for more of the restaurants too and we’re training a fleet of moped drivers for deliveries while we were there!

pearpickingporky84 · 22/07/2020 18:47

@ImperfectTents I did come home with a very sore bum but it was from the cycling, honest...Wink

WoahBodyforrrm · 22/07/2020 21:25

@pearpickingporky84 😂😂 commiserations on your sore saddle bum! Not the type of achey bottom one comes to expect from a CP holiday 🙊

Thanks for letting me know, that sounds promising. I’m trying to decide between CP or hiring a motorhome and heading to the coast but it’s giving me a headache even thinking about the planning required 🤯

ImperfectTents · 26/07/2020 16:45

@pearpickingporky84 apply more lube next time
