Swanky hotel to take teenage daughter

I’m looking for a hotel to take dd for her birthday in November. She will be 18 and has had a rubbish year so want to take her on a mum and daughter special weekend away. Spa facilities would be good, probably London or Brighton . Can anyone suggest anywhere please?

The Langham in London is amazing and has a spa

Toilenstripes · 16/06/2020 19:04

The Bloomsbury in London is great. They have a gorgeous bar called the Coral Room, and they do a nice afternoon tea.

I’d find something hip rather than stuffy. In central or east London. With some buzz and the interiors like shoreditch house, zetter or the ned.

Sea containers London?

Randolph hotel in oxford. Its an hour from london so not too bad plus theres loads of lovely things to do nearby like the ashmoelean museum. I would like to go when i have enough money. Is about £200 a night.

Thank you, I’m going to have a look at them all now, I think hip rather than stuffy is what I’m looking for. Has anybody been to Chelsea harbour?

Check out the hotels in the Red Carnation range. Absolutely amazing experience to stay there.

The curtain in shoreditch - has a New York vibe, rooftop pool and bar, spa etc.

ImAncient · 16/06/2020 20:23

The Shangri La. Otherwise the langham. Don’t rate red carnation hotels. Me is ok if she’d like that kind of thing.

ImAncient · 16/06/2020 20:24

Corinthia has a good spa but I didn’t rate it as a hotel.

EmmelineGreen · 16/06/2020 20:26

The Gainsborough in Bath has a swanky feel and lovely spa plus you’re in Bath with lots of shopping and restaurant options. Also it’s not too expensive.

SRK16 · 16/06/2020 20:29

The ned, London
Ace hotel shoreditch (not sure about spa but it’s trendy)

Patapouf · 16/06/2020 20:29

The landmark in London is v nice!

Houseplantmad · 16/06/2020 21:43

Chelsea Harbour is a bit out of the way.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 17/06/2020 06:52

The only prob with the Ned is that the surrounding area is a bit dead and sterile at the weekend.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 17/06/2020 06:54

The Curtain is ace - and there are loads of fun and memorable shops, bars, and restaurants close by.

As a PP has said, The Gainsborough in Bath. Took my DD there when she was 16 (2 years ago) and she was bowled over. They draw from the same waters as the Roman baths. The thing my DD still talks about is the fact the mini bar was free!

Southampton Harbour & Spa Hotel is lovely, we had our silver wedding there, based in the marina, the hotel is quite new and built to look like a ship, lovely rooms, staff & good range of shops in the city. Would recommend.

Another vote for the Langham!

Bauble74 · 17/06/2020 20:32

Thank you all, I’ve booked the Langham.
