Need some respite from the news so thinking about 2021 summer holiday, presuming we'll be ok to travel by then! I can't see us wanting to go abroad, though, so UK it's likely to be.
DSes will be 12 and 14 and are getting harder to enthuse about family holidays. When they were little we did Haven-type caravan parks, then self-catering cottages in beautiful areas with lots of walking (which would be mine and DH's ideal). But now they protest at long walks and anything that drags them from their screens 😆
They do like:
- Swimming pools (but not if they're busy)
- Quirky museums
- Eating out
- Anything involving animals (zoos, llama trekking have been big hits)
They don't like:
- Long walks (
)
- Busy places (so city breaks not really an option)
- Organised adventure-type activities
Anyone got any suggestions of holidays that have been good at this age and might go down well with them? Not sure if we'll get away at all this year so would really like to get it right next year.
