What to do and where to go in Pembrokshire?

I am off to Wales (Eglwyswen near Newport) for a week with DH, a 15 week old DD and an exercise loving labrador.

Any ideas of where to go and what to do?

TIA

We spent two weeks near Solva in July with DD (4) and DS (1) and I have also been to Pembrokeshire many times before. There are lots of places near you for walking, with some excellent beaches (e.g. Whitesands Bay, Newgale, Broad Haven, Barafundle, Marloes). There is also a long-distance Coastal Path going along much of the Pembrokeshire Coast. The scenery along this Coast is beautiful. Places to visit include St Davids (a tiny village that is a cathedral 'city'), Tenby (an old-fashioned holiday town) and lots of small villages on the coast and inland. Don't miss the ancient burial chamber at Pentre Ifan, near Newport - built with the same stones as those at Stonehenge and in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

If you look at the Wales Tourist Board website, you will see some useful links, including one which is called 'Visit Pembrokeshire', if I remember correctly.

If you like eating out, there are some very good restaurants in Newport. I also highly recommend the Druidstone Hotel, near Broad Haven. It has a wonderful combination of laid-backness and excellent food. A couple with a very young baby were having dinner the night we last ate there, the baby happily asleep in her pushchair.

Tenby and caldey Island are nice and I highly recommend Folly farm park, brilliant place not far from tenby.
