Nice self-catering / B&B near Ipswich anyone?

I have to follow a course of treatment for 2 weeks near Ipswich. As I live at completely the other end of the country I'd like to rent somewhere so I can be with DP and DS as well. Can anyone suggest something? I also have to go for an initial assessment for a weekend so could do with a B&B. Am quite low about having to go for the treatment so would like somewhere half decent to make me feel better about it all!

Chocolateshoes, the B&B I linked to is closer to Woodbridge than Ipswich.

Hope you get sorted.

I have a place 30 mins away on the coast will give you a very good rate. All mod cons. www.picturetrail.com/aldeburgh

If it's Woodbridge, would say the following are nice areas:

Levington
Orford
Melton
Aldeburgh
Waldringfield

Good luck xx

Secondhandrose - your place looks great but it says not suitable for under 5s and DS is only 2. Thanks though.

EllieK - thanks - you are very kind! I'll google b&bs & BuryStE and see what comes up.

Crunchie (God I could eat one now) I'd love to know more about your friend's place if you are able to find out. Thanks!

I live in Kesgrave just outside Ipswich. I'd say Woodbridge is great, so if you can find good accommodation there it would be fine. Also Aldeburgh, or loads of the small villages around. Nowhere in Ipswich itself I would recommend, as it's far more a functional place rather than touristy/holiday IYSWIM.

SecondhandRose · 07/09/2007 22:22

Yes, we've got open stairs and no gate so probably a no go. I hope you find something nice. Have you contacted Ipswich Tourist Information they should be able to send you a list of properties.

Am I right you have to go to woodbridge??
HAve you tried easton farm park Fab place to visit and they have a farm park there which you DS will LOVE!!!!! Cottages onsite.

My friends cottage ois actually further away when I looked at a map, I will call her if you like, it is a luxury cottage BUT as she has kids I think it has facilities

Thanks Crunchie. That farm looks brilliant! Well done! I have just e-mailed them for prices.

Thanks to everyone who has posted. I was really quite low about this treatment and resenting having to travel so far and stay but thanks to all your help I feel so much more positive and I have to say that Suffolk looks a lovely place.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
