Off to London - will be arriving at Kings Cross about lunchtime.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to eat around KC?

I'll be with 11 year old DD.

Depends on your budget but dishoom, caravan, German gymnasium are my top picks. The lighter man does some decent food too with a good view of the water if you sit inside downstairs.

There’s Restaurent in the station.

Thanks both, just had a look at the Lighterman.

Looks perfect.

@Cloudyapples oooh just had a look at the German gymnasium - now that's what I'm looking for! So pretty x

German Gymnasium is lovely! Not cheap, mind, but a great buzzy venue.

For something a bit cheaper walk to The Brunswick centre for shops and chain restaurants (Iguana, Leon etc).
Or walk on to Russell Square gardens to Cafe Tropea, good value typical Italian cafe with a good choice.

@HerBigChance @Lindor - I'll take a look!

There is a fantastic veggie Quaker cafe bang opposite Euston station, 5 mins walk from Kings Cross.

I’ve been wanting to try here for a while. It looks good for lunch with a teenager, but I have no personal recommendation to give. Has anybody on the thread been here?

Dishoom

burnoutbabe · 04/03/2020 21:05

I go to that bar and block most months as best work and does a cheap express lunch deal for under £10 inc drink. It's linked to premier inn I think.
Dishoom is a bit of a trek from the station.

@burnoutbabe looks good value and they do half price cocktails! 🍸
