Saving up for a post a level spa break with Dd2 and am looking at champneys . Both look lovely and get good reviews but I wondered if you have any experience of either and which you may recommend. We're aiming to go in July and it's pricey so don't want to get it wrong!

Are you staying or just for the day?

I go to Champneys 2 or 3 times a year for a day spa. They have been doing it up for the last 7 or 8 years and the new day spa changing rooms have dyson hair etc. Food is nice and plentiful for lunch

I would look on places like secret escapes or groupon etc as you might get a better deal.
if you are after a facial, then booking direct with the elemis or clarins stand is better value as you can reclaim the value of the facial in products.

yes sorry that is Henlow

Henlow is much quieter than Tring, I prefer it. Tring is good if you want the extra health options such as intolerance testing or b12 shots, but otherwise for a spa, Henlow is better. At Tring the pool areas are quite spread out, ie, the thalassotherapy pool is down the corridor from the main pool which I didn't really like, whereas Henlow things are less spread out, staff are more cheerful and it's usually cheaper than Tring. Never book at full price, there will definitely be a 50% off a 2 night break deal for when you want to go.

Thanks muddled - full price is completely eye watering I agree

I went to Henlow recently and really enjoyed it. Haven't been to Tring.

The pool at Henlow is lovely, there are nice grounds and the rooms decent. Treatment was great.

The only criticism was the food. It was okay but not exceptional, breakfast and lunch are buffet style.

I went to henlow with my mum for an overnight stay. It had been done up since last stay.

The beds by the pool are amazing - never enough but managed to get one in the end as people are always off getting treatments.

Always go on offer with a treatment.

Henlow does look lovely and I love the idea of having grounds to milll around outside as hopefully by then it will have stopped raining and we can chill outside

There are also sun beds you lie on by the river at Henlow, which will be nice in July

Sounds idyllic!
