UK hoiday park with great pool but don't care about any other facilities

That's it really. DS13 would like a snazzy indoor pool with as much 'stuff' as possible. But we don't want other facilities or, god help us, 'entertainment'. We are looking a peak summer - CP way to expensive. However, other pools seem not to measure up. Any suggestions?

not sure how it compares to centre parks but bluelagoon holiday park has similar pool facilities to centre parks.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 23/02/2020 19:16

message above should read -not sure how it compares price wise to centre parks

Whatdayisit2 · 23/02/2020 19:54

Hafan y mor is a budget option or bluestone in Tenby

Justalittlebitfurther · 23/02/2020 19:59

Bluestone has a great pool

Try Finlake www.haulfrynholidays.co.uk/our-parks/south-west-england/finlake

Water park at Bluestone in Pembrokeshire is great: several slides ( indoor, outdoor, dark drop etc), lazy river, and waves but no cheaper than CP but you can pay to go in for the day so if you don’t want everything else on offer there then stay elsewhere nearby like Tenby, Saundersfoot etc and go once or twice? There is a water sports place at Saundersfoot if she wants more water based stuff

lexloofah · 24/02/2020 06:38

Actually double check that as may need to know someone already staying there to get in, forgot that is what we did with visitors last year

DefConOne · 24/02/2020 10:08

Hendra near Newquay in Cornwall has a good pool with 3 slides. Really nice holiday park. I've heard Ruda in North Devon is good but haven't been yet.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/02/2020 10:16

defcon was going to recommend Hendra and Ruda! Both excellent.

Patch23042 · 24/02/2020 10:19

Bluestone.

MatterhornMadness · 24/02/2020 10:26

Are Hendra and Ruda indoor pools then? I've heard colleagues say nice things about both places.

Bootsuit · 24/02/2020 10:35

Bluestone is great but it's the Welsh version of Centre Parcs and costs just as much.

We're after something similar and thinking of going to a Butlins. If people here know the best one to go to?

Soubriquet · 24/02/2020 10:39

Butlins!!

We love their indoor pool and can happily spend hours there

We have only done the Skegness version but the minehead have a brand new pool all set up

OvalCanvas · 24/02/2020 10:45

I know you said no entertainment, but Butlins Bognor Regis has a new pool which has good reviews.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 24/02/2020 10:50

I second Butlins Bognor Regis. The pool is insane!

DefConOne · 25/02/2020 20:32

Butlins Minehead is cheaper if you book a caravan direct from owners. I got a 10 berth for £595 4 nights October half-term.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 26/02/2020 09:20

Thats good to know DefConOne Where you still allowed to use the facilities?

Soubriquet · 26/02/2020 11:46

We used to use the caravans at skegness and full use of facilities

Spam88 · 26/02/2020 12:44

Is bluestone really as expensive as centre parks? We've booked a week in April for £285 for 4 people, I always assumed centre parks was significantly more expensive than that (although that is during term time).

The bluestone pool is open to people not staying (or guests of people staying) but only during specific public sessions.

DefConOne · 26/02/2020 19:47

unlimiteddilutingjuice

Yes. You get passes issued at check in the same as for the normal accommodation. The entertainment was surprisingly good.

PeckSilver · 01/03/2020 11:53

Have looked at Bluestone (def not as expensive as CP for the time we are looking) but there are lots of reviews on here saying it's not good for older kids? Pool looks very shallow?
