Bermuda teen triangle of Hastings, Rye, Tunbridge Wells at Easter

Lucky us, we have been lent a lovely house for 2 weeks at Easter that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between the above towns...The Weald? It has no TV! Kids, 13, 11yo and 8 are outraged. What is nearby that might amuse them? They are NT tolerant and quite out doorsy but also like cinema, craft and shops and eating etc

And you don’t need to go to an Odeon, the Kino is much better. There’s one in Rye and another in Hawkhurst. They have good drinks and snacks too

If you want a tv provided there's an Ariel you could take one. Or laptop for Netflix etc.

Other than that we visited rye a few years ago. Watch the tides!
But a walk along the river and lunch in the pub or fish and chips is great. It's very hilly though! It's quite an old town and we loved the independent shops there at the time. Rye beach is also lovely to walk around. There's a huge marshy area. But if you venture onto the beach from there DO NOT cross the lower empty river bit onto the sands. The tide fills in there and then comes up and covers the sand and you can get cut off very easily.

Hastings is livelier. Arcades and beach walking.

Camber sands is a lovely beach but again beware of the tides. Great for flying a kite as suggested.

Yes, agreed re coastal safety, do check and head the local advice. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/birling-gap-and-the-seven-sisters Is great, but has a warning up at the moment. Bodiam Castle isn’t far either as mentioned above.

The De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill is worth looking up and The old part of Hastings for a wander, a look at the shops and the funicular railway.

Ask about mobile reception too as it can be very patchy.
