Nice place to stay / hotel near Birmingham?

I've got the chance to get away for a few days and on the end of my train line (coming out of Wales) is Birmingham. can anyone recommend a nice place to stay for a few days, not necessarily in the city but easy to get to without a car?

I just want to disconnect for a short while. Don't much care what.

Bham is quite busy and vibrant. Disconnect sounds like you want peace and quiet. This is on the train line back out of Bham with lovely country walks nearby.

Malvern? Some lovely hotels and a train ride from the bustle of Brum. Depends when you're going though as there has been flooding nearby.
