West Highland Line - where to stay?

I am planning to take DH on a short break at the end of April, flying to Glasgow on a Thurs evening, staying overnight and then taking the West Highland Line to Mallaig on Friday. We have a number of options: do the whole rail journey in one day and stay in Mallaig on Friday and Sat nights, returning to Glasgow for our flight home on Sunday evening ( this might be a bit hairy if train is delayed though). Or we could stay in Mallaig on the Fri night and return to Glasgow for Sat night. Or we could stop off somewhere en route on the way up or back. Any recommendations, advice or ideas very welcome!

Fort William on Saturday night? As a town it's not the prettiest place but it's a good point to break the journey.

Get back to Glasgow on the Sat night and have a night out there. When reserving your seats northbound, get window seats on the lhs as you face the way you travel, you'll enjoy great views of the coast as you go north. Reverse as you head back to Glasgow.

Fort William is a bit grim.
Bridge of Orchy Hotel would make a nice stop.
Arisaig is very scenic.

Thanks for your responses. I think we’ll do a night in Glasgow, early train to Mallaig the next day, overnight in either Arisaig or Mallaig and then back to Glasgow for the last night.
I did toy with the idea of Glasgow - Mallaig - Armadale - Kyle - Inverness - home - but think it might be too much for 3 days.
