Oct half term - short break with children near beach in Devon

We want to go on a beach holiday in Devon (North, preferably) for some of Oct half term (19th - 29th Oct; kids have 2 INSET days). Can't go for whole week, so I think self-catering is probably out. Does anyone know of a b+b or hotel which has family rooms - preferably two rooms with interconnecting door - or alternatively a cottage which does short breaks at that time?

We have just come back form a weeks hols in Ilfracombe in North Devon, and it was totally fab.
Would definately reccomend it, great for kids, mine loved it, and we are hoping to go back in half term also.
There are loads of self catering cottages that do short breaks. We booked through Daltons. Hope this helps.
