I’ve only been to Cornwall once, years ago. Stayed in Newquay- wasn’t too keen on it as a place to stay. Loved St Ives, but can’t afford to stay there unfortunately.

Family of 4, older primary, younger secondary ages. We like pretty places, beaches etc. Have transport so intend your travel around. Want to have a few days out and a few beach days.

Air bnb seems to be coming up the most affordable for the best accommodation but I need an area to base the search on. Thanks in advance 😊

Watergate Bay is lovely and has self catering apartments as well as a hotel.

Marazion is lovely! Not loads to do on foot but a lovely beach, has St Michaels mount, a beautiful bar/restaurant on the front and a few little shops.

I live in Cornwall and we love the north coast Trevose head area nr padstow. I also love the lizard (coverack etc)and the lands end (Sennen etc ) peninsulas

However it does depend on how much of a journey you want because you are easily adding another 1hr to 1.5 hrs to your journey and if you're already driving a long way that might be too much

Agree with lots of previous recommendations, in particular Looe, we’ve had some brilliant holidays there. The views when walking up on the cliffs are spectacular and there’s plenty to do.

Back again to suggest the Rame peninsula - we’ve had weekends there. Cawsand/Kingsand and Millbrook. It’s southeast Cornwall - between Plymouth and Looe. There are foot ferries across to Plymouth, a couple of NT properties, surfing beaches (Whitsand bay?) and sheltered swimming beaches

Any of the beaches between Padstow and Newquay, Trevone, Treyarnon, Mawgan Perth. They are all lovely. Treyarnon and Trevone both have large natural swimming pools which can be accessed at low tide too. I live nearby.

In the far west, Sennen is lovely but will add an hour and a half onto your journey to get there.

I love Cornwall. We nearly always stay in Crantock, which is very close to Newquay. Crantock Bay Hotel has some new self-catering apartments too I believe (although it is slightly out of the village centre).

I have seen a lot of Cornwall. Went to St Agnes a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. I don't want to go anywhere else now! St Ives is crowded, Padstow is absolutely rammed. I didn't like Newquay. Porthcurno is beautiful, but of all the places i have been in Cornwall, I liked St Agnes best.

For a B and B you can't do better than this. It's in a gorgeous area and the owners are absolutely lovely. It's not St Agnes, but it's lovely. A short walk from the cliffs and a beach. Tintagel a short walk the other way.

The Bay Hotel at Coverack is perfect
