Getaway with my dogs?

Hi. Going through a tough time with mental health & really would like to get away from home (London) for a few days, with my 2 dogs.

I drive, so that's not an issue, but cost is as I'm skint!

This time of year, where would you suggest?

I'd love to afford a spa break, but can't leave the dogs & have no idea how £££ that would be.

Definitely no camping - got arthritis & other pain issues.

Last year we went to Hoseasons. Wasn't expecting much but it was very good. Great location for dogs (yep they are allowed in some lodges). Forrest on the doorstep, a hot tub and surprisingly nice accommodation.

What's your budget?

There is an option on Booking.com to filter by "pet friendly" and "Spa" - maybe try that? Pick some dates and a rough location first.

We took our dog to The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire a couple of years ago, it was amazing. There's some lovely walks, you can leave your dog in your room if it's well behaved when you go to eat. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, a formal one (mean must wear a jacket) and a more informal bistro type place (we always ate in this one) food is lovely.
There's a spa that's part of the hotel across the road - you can't take your dogs in there but the hotel reception will look after your dog if you don't want to leave it in your room.
It's the first time we've ever been to a dog friendly hotel and couldn't fault it. It can be pricy but they always have offers/deals on so worth a look.

Oh wow! Thank you guys!! I just got home from hospital appt, so I'm firing up the laptop & having a browse.

I would go to Northumberland great beaches perfect for dog walking. Try Grace Darling or Coastal Retreats. The latter is a bit more upmarket (but eating out and the cost of living is far cheaper up north)

@Daddylonglegs1965 thank you for that tip - I don't know Northumberland, and now I'm off to look online. I love beach walking with the dogs!

It’s fabulous if you wrap up for all weathers especially cold and wet you can walk on a different beautiful beach every day. Enjoy you deserve it.

Northumberland is great for dogs. The beaches are just wow.

There are plenty of places that let you take dogs now for all sorts of budgets

@Daddylonglegs1965 that sounds perfect! Beaches are my favourite places & one dog loves to jump in, whatever the weather.

@MrsCasares I have never been, but @Daddylonglegs1965 has also suggested it! It sounds like the ideal venue.

@ineedaholidaynow so many more these days, aren't there? We have been to Cornwall a couple of times, but in the summer.
