Wembley stadium to central London

Hi! Can someone give me the idiots guide to getting from Wembley Stadium, to Central London? I'm happy to walk a fair bit once I'm central, but I've no idea of the initial journey.
Last time I went to London, I had friend who had been loads so didn't really have to figure it out. This time it's just me and my husband and neither have been other than that one time.

Ideally we'd stay closer, but the hotel is booked so that's that.

Which part of central London are you trying to get to? Shopping? A specific hotel? General sightseeing?

Download Citymapper, it's free and best transport app

Wembley Stadium station itself (a few minutes walk from the stadium) is on the Chilterns line into Marylebone. So you could start by getting the train to Marylebone.

Metropolitan line is the best as a fast service does not stop at as many stations as the Jubilee line. Once you get to a major stop you can change lines to get to where you want to go.

Thanks. It's general sight seeing really. I think I'm your typical tourist at home, probably accidentally annoying those in a rush.
I'd like to have a look at Buckingham Palace again, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Leicester Square, Harrods that kind of stuff.
I've downloaded city mapper so hopefully that'll help. I'm definitely more of a "get to the centre and walk around all the bits I want, then get back out on public transport again" than the type to be hopping on and off the tube or bus all day....unless that's actually easier.

Knowing my luck I'd get on a tube and end up miles from anything due to lack of knowledge!

Jubilee line to Green Park

Green Park is closest to Buckingham Palace but the palace is a good walk from the tube station.
