York is a lovely city

Alresford in Hampshire. Hexham and Rothbury in Northumberland. Depends what you're after really, you're being a bit vague.

Agree with York and Rothbury. Beddgelert is a beautiful village.

Bourton on the Water (Cotswolds)
Very touristy but there's a reason why.

Chester - loads of Tudor buildings.
Tobermory- houses are painted all different colours.

Ended up in Bradford upon Avon last year at Christmas - it was just lovely! I was not expecting great things as I live near the "real" Bradford which is not so lovely. But it was super pretty with lots of lights.
