Taking Cybex car seat on the plane, comes in 2 parts?

Just that really I'm putting a car seat that comes in 2 parts on the plane. They don't click together so I'm worried the small bit will get lost. It's that car seat with the padded bar instead of straps

Any advice hints or tips?

Do you mean it's going in the hold? If it doesn't fit in with a lap belt then you cant use it in the cabin

Put it in a bag designed for the job?

Yes sorry, plan on putting it in the hold. Have never seen a bag for these but didn't want to spend any more money if I could help it.

Can you carry the small bit into the cabin?

How can they not clip together?

I really wouldnt just take the seat and put it in the hold. You need a box or a bag for it. I've only ever seen people use really thick clear plastic sacks, or a cloth (nylon?) Zip bag that said "carseat" all over it.

Would the bit you are worried about fit in a suitcase with your personal belongings?

We used a wide suitcase strap to hold the bar bit slotted into place in the seat, it was one with a combination lock so we locked it as tight as we could manage. Flew at least a dozen times like this (uk internal) and never had a problem.

Strong rope/strap and tie the bar bit through where the seatbelt goes to the chair. I would advise a decent carseat bag though.

Nice one orange daisy.

You've all put the fear in me. Going to amazon prime a car seat bag!

It's a toddler size seat so pretty big. The small bit is pretty big so couldn't get it in a case. It is held in place by the seatbelt when in use
