It’s DS (8) birthday next week and thought about Chessington as a treat. Anyone have any advice (like the fab legoland thread?!)? Can I get on the rides with two children 6 and 8 on my own?

Lots of suitable rides. 8 year old should be fine to sit in a cart alone if you sit next to 6 year old.
Look at eBay for cheap tickets that people sell, or at least use a voucher from a cereal box.

If you down load the app you can get live queue times. If you use it now and go to the rides You can click to see minimum height and minimum accompanied height.

If you book online it’s cheaper if you book a few days before (price goes up closer to the day).
Watch out for height restrictions for the 6 year old. It may mean they can’t get on rides the 8 year old can. Download the Chessington app, you can decide in advance which rides you want to go for and on the day it will show you queue times.
Get there as soon as it opens as it’s a bit quieter and take your own food.
