Looe - what to do nearby?

Two adults plus 11 year old girl, staying near Looe. Apart from the obvious beach and Eden Project (which we did 6 years ago, but will visit again), what else is nearby? Thanks

Do you have a car? There's some nice little villages like Polperro that I think are quite close to Looe (I live in south Devon - I'm a bit rusty on Cornwall!)

We stayed at Looe in May with our 12 yo DD and adult DS. We went to Polperro, Lanhydrock (National Trust), Bodmin Jail (on a wet day), Wheal Martyn museum, which had some nice walks, the Eden Project and the beach.

DS wanted to go to the Monkey Sanctuary but we didn't get there, and apparently there is also Porfell Wildlife Park.

Lope itself is lovely. We enjoyed walking round and crabbing at the harbour. The beach in looe is nice and the sardine factory is great for food (there’s also an indoor climbing wall there).

Yes we have a car. I had Polperro on the list but that was about it!

We love the model village at Polperro. A bit further afield, the Carnglaze Caverns are great. Apart from the actual caverns, there are some Gardens and woodland areas to explore and there are regular concerts and outdoor theatre events in the grounds.
Daphne du Maurier’s smugglers Museum at Launceston are interesting, especially if you watched Jamaica Inn.
Hidden Valley Discovery Park might be a tad too far for you but I think it’s worth it.

I loved bodmin jail, very spooky! Maybe Dingles family heritage fun fair? Its about 50 minutes from looe, but we really loved it.

Definitely Monkey Sanctuary and Porfell Wildlife Park. Adrenaline Valley if you like zipwires etc.
Cliff walk to Talland Bay cafe for ice creams.
I think we went to Eden Project from there and also Heligon.

From Looe itself there are boat trips and fishing trips. You can go crab-fishing along the harbour wall. There's often bands playing in the pubs. Watch out for pirates - they stroll the town and have impromptu sword fights. I love Looe.
