Child free weekend which would you choose?

Dh and I are planning on having a child free weekend in Oct/Nov time. Cannot currently decide between the following options:

A) 2 nights in London, theatre trip, some kind of walking tour, museums, culture etc

b) foodie weekend in Edinburgh - trying out a few new restaurants, also museums/galleries

C) spa weekend in Lakes- this is currently looking the most ££££!

I am currently leaning towards London but DH says something about kingsX being shut at weekends??

Which one would you go for?

I would do A or B. Love a spa day but I would find a whole weekend a bit long.

Yes I know what you mean!

Out of your list A

Personally I’d go to Edinburgh but only because I live in London! I’ve never heard of Kings X being shut at the weekend though - does he mean the station? Or just planned engineering works for certain lines? The area round Kings X is great at the weekends now - loads of great restaurants

BigSandyBalls2015 · 19/08/2019 09:14

B but I live near London, so depends where you are

katewhinesalot · 19/08/2019 09:15

Probably A or maybe B.
Not C as spas don't float my boat.

yikesanotherbooboo · 19/08/2019 09:33

A or B
In my case probably B as I have been to London a lot more often.
No interest in a spa weekend

I would chose Edinburgh, however I live every close to the lakes so I am a bit biased.
I absolutely love Edinburgh and it's a nice medium between the two!
If you do go the lakes for a spa I would definitely recommend Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa.
If you decide to go to Edinburgh if you like cheese and wine go to Pickles, it's a tiny little pub but cheap with good wine!
Make sure you also visit the Dome in Edinburgh, they do afternoon tea there (you need to book) which is lovely but even just to visit and have a drink, the building is amazing!

A or B.

Did trip to London recently gof tix to harry potter show was amazing.

Depends where you live. If not usually in London for work etc then go there.

Also went to borough market for lunch and on a thames clipper and walking from there back to Bloomsbury.

So much to do in London. Fund an exhibition you really want to see.

ZenNudist · 19/08/2019 09:47

Where do you live? Can you drive? I used just park app and it was way cheaper than train. Easy to extend as well. But we onky had to drive from Midlands where we left dc with gps

Disfordarkchocolate · 19/08/2019 09:49

B, without a doubt.
C would be great without the Spa, just A great hotel or a cosy cottage.

Summer2019NewMummy · 19/08/2019 09:52

B!

foxtong · 19/08/2019 11:46

We live in the north east so Edinburgh is 1.5 hours on train and London is 3.

We'd love to see Harry Potter and the Cursed child but don't think our ds would forgive us if we went without him!!

I would go to Edinburgh. The lakes are lovely but those walks/views will disappear into darkness quite early at that time of year. Sounds like you are more likely to do trips to London with your DS anyway so choose the different option.

Teddybear45 · 19/08/2019 13:35

Edinburgh will be the most fun. The Lakes the most relaxing.
