Does nowhere do day trips to the beach anymore that don't cost a stupid amout of money and take all day to get there ?

All I want is to be able to take the kids to the beach for a day, to watch them paddle in the sea and build a sand castle etc, but it seems I have to pay over £100 to do that, and spend most of the day on coach or train.

I remember going on day trips on coach when i was little and it never cost that much or took so long.

try your local SURE start area.

the local one here is running day trips to teh blocal beaches for £1!

were about 6 miles from nearest beach!

Will have a look, but I am pretty sure I am out of their area and we don't have our own one.

im not sure how they vary but i dont livbe in a sure start area which means i am not able to access some of the events they organise but the day trips are open to anyone i think

Looked on the site for the one nearest to me, but there is nothing listed about trips under events and last time I did try to join they said I couldn't as I was out of area anyway.
