has anyone got any recommendations?

me and my friend want to take the kids to the seaside for a night - we live in essex - so thinking somewhere around 2hrs from here - and an ok hotel for 1 night - we would love an apartment so we could all stay together - but know for 1 night that isnt going to happen.

any recommendations?

thanks,

carly

p.s. not southend.

Aldeborough, Southwold. Those sort of places in Suffolk. Two hours drive from where we live (Essex) Beautiful beaches and lots to do. Do you feel brave enough to go camping? They have some campsites around there. Whistable in Kent is also supposed to be really cool. Can't think of any hotels. Sorry.

Aldeburgh is lovely. Just got back from there. We stayed at the White Lion which was ok-ish. It was expensive but we got it half price with sainsburys vouchers. Bed was a bit uncomfy and was old fashioned hotel but breakfast very nice.

If you do stay in Aldeburgh check out the local fish huts selling freshly caught fish. Also Aldeburgh fish and chip shop is very very good indeed even if the queue was 40 mins!!

It was very quiet at night with welcoming pubs and nice walks in the dark. Beach was half sand and half pebble. Not really anything for kids especially, except of course the beach and a really sweet little boating lake.
