Break with 5 year old & 10 week old in the next 2 weeks. Any ideas? We've done Parkdean loads of times, think we're after something similar but a bit nicer. Center Parcs would be great but the prices are outrageous.

Show me some inspiration people of Mumsnet!

Forest Holidays have 20% off right now - might be worth a look?

Thanks @alidew, just looked, if the kiddos were older that would be perfect but not much for them.
Just been looking at Haven breaks, they have some quite good offers, never been to a Haven resort though

I really don't like Haven't but for some people, it's perfect (hell on earth for me).

@Disfordarkchocolate I totally agree but great for kids she says smiling through gritted teeth Grin

Mine didn't really like it, after a day or two they got fed up of the restricted pool times and the noise. Some do love it though. I'd just pick an area place with plenty of things to do and rent a cottage.

What area are you limited too?

Blimey OP! You are cutting it fine! Have a look at Hoseasons, they have some nicer parks.
Or Clippesby Hall in Norfolk is lovely but probably booked up.

MegBusset · 23/07/2019 23:24

Where are you and where can you get to? We've done Sandy Balls (New Forest), Kelling Heath (Norfolk), Haven Greenacres (Snowdonia), Pentewan Sands (Cornwall) - all nice and may have last-minute availability

HairyToity · 25/07/2019 22:19

Bluestone

When I had to do similar I thought of an area I wanted to stay in and rang up the local tourist information office for phone numbers of self catering places that had availability within budget. Worked out well. You can check properties out online now anyway.

Haven lakeside is nice
Butlins is always great for young children. And an easy holiday to do as a lone adult with small children. Phone them though fo best deal.
Darwin forest near matlock is lovely. But actually probably not freat for your children’s ages.
What about a hotel in torquay? I wa spriving some up yesterday and some good deals available.
