York in February

Would love to go on holiday in York next year, we've got the February half term off, is it worth going then or better to wait for warmer weather? Don't want to be stuck indoors for a week, would love to explore the area, go on the steam train etc. Any thoughts?

February is a great time to go because of the Jorvik Viking Festival www.jorvikvikingfestival.co.uk

We went this Feb half term. It was fine. Not that cold and no rain I don't think. Lots of stuff is indoors anyway.

Castle museum was great. We also did chocolate making tour which my dd loved.

Jorvic was ok but but of a let down after the long queue!

Train museum is great. Next to the train station. If if your not that in to trains it's still a good day out. I think it's free to get in to.

There is loads to see and do in York, and it isn't weather dependent. We only live an hour away and have often been at thst time of year.

Lots to do in York in bad weather.
Lots of museums and the Jorvik centre is indoors. Plus you have the minster and of you fancy retail therapy the big outlet is just outside York and I’m sure there is a bus that gets you there.

We went in October half-term and you just dress accordingly. Lots of things indoors to warm up if necessary.
