Butlins dining halls - question about swiping your room card

I know they swipe your room card when you go in, so does this mean you can only go in and out once during each mealtime? If you had to leave during your meal, would they allow you back in again?

I seem to remember the door team just remember you, and, I think they know they repeat offenders for multiple meals, so, it's not exactly strictly enforced.
