Travelling to Brighton for work with car - where to stay, where to park?

I am going to Brighton in a couple of weeks for work. Arriving Monday night, leaving Wednesday night. I need to be in central Brighton all day Tuesday and Wednesday. I have to take my car as need to fulfill a family commitment on the way home. I cannot decide where to stay!

Parking seems v hit And miss with Brighton hotels. I thought about staying in Lewes and training in but will need to park the car somewhere on Wednesday after I've checked out. Looked at the park and ride but reviews aren't good.

Local mumsnetters help me! I don't mind travelling in, just need to know where to stay that has ample parking and then I could maybe drive in and park all day Wednesday. I know it's expensive but that's ok. Should I do that both days and if so is the lanes car Park horrible to park in?

Parking in Brighton, isn’t the best, same hotels will park the car for you, you will pay a premium for it but it’s worth it, £35-£40 per night.

The shopping mall usually has spaces, Churchill Square, but again expensive.

Unfortunately, you can’t find much free parking now outside the centre, as so much is now residents permit only parking. Or metered parking that you have to pay by phone.

Most of Brighton streets are permit only or short stay pay & display. Churchill square is eye wateringly expensive for long stay! There’s park and ride but that doesn’t have overnight parking.

I think I’d probably stay outside of Brighton itself and get the train in...

Park it in Saltdean and get the bus along the front?

Where in brighton are you staying?

I used Holiday Inn by the i360 - v good value and v central. I think they can do parking for an extra fee but you’d need to check

Can't advise about hotels but have parked in Regency Square Car Park for the day before. It's council run, very central (5 mins walk to Churchill Square), clean, safe and secure. Regency Square Car Park. I booked using Just Park and it was cheaper than paying on the day and far cheaper than Churchill Square.

Can you stay at Brighton Marina? The hotel there has a deal with the multi storey car park. Then short cab or bus journey into city centre.

We've used the regency square car park as well when staying in Brighton before. It's not especially cheap, but it is central, safe and easy to find. Considering parking in Brighton is expensive anyway it's definitely one of the more appealing options.

Honestly I'd stay in Lewes and get the train. You can park in the station carpark at Lewes for £6.60 per day or £27 per week.

Worth checking some of the parking aggregator sites. Some people hire their drives out for the very reaaon that the main car parks are crazy expensive. Can work out cheaper than paying both parking and train fare from lewes. The cheaper one here os actually a hotel though (I put in a random Mon-weds timeframe in two weeks)
