Things to do in Liverpool with teens

Continuing the "with teens" series Grin

We are spending 2 nights in Liverpool on the way back from the dales this summer. Will only really have 1 full day as we plan to visit Formby & Crosby (naked men!) en route so probably won't get there until late pm on day 1. Thinking Beatles Museum & a ferry trip across the Mersey. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The Slavery Museum is well worth a visit. The museum is in Royal Albert dock, which has lots of nice shops and places to eat.

Cavern club just ask and they will allow the kids in to have a look around, nice people. Have a look at Southport ( might have to copy and paste) www.donthibernate.co.uk/day-or-evening-trip-to-southport/

This page isn't finished but you will get the idea

Skate boarding / BMX?

Loads of Museums etc many are free, what are they interested in?
Any questions just ask.

Do the open top bus tour/ ferry combo, the bus guides are really funny and every stop is interesting- bombed out church and the planetarium at the world museum are my favourites, there’s Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit at the Walker too at the moment and it’s free! Make time for u boat story stop on the ferry, free with your ticket and really interesting. You can also go up the radio city tower which is cool and the Tate on Liverpool docks is good for a whizz through modern art. My teens love this as a day out and they’re hard to please

If they like football, there's Anfield stadium tours (or that other teamGrin), art the Tate or Walker art gallery. Have a good time

A trip up St. Johns beacon - great views of the whole city and the Wirral.
Liverpool Eye
Albert Dock /Pier Head - there's lots of different events which happen throughout the year here such as music festivals
Tour of one of the football grounds
Breakout Liverpool - escape rooms

When you go to Crosby I'd recommend a wander along St John's Road or College Road where there's lots of independent shops and cafes.

There’s a Nurf centre that looks fun, and crazy golf

Personally I would skip anything Beatles-related!

My Liverpool priorities would always be Crosby Beach (which you’re doing already) and Hope Street from end to end. Cathedrals, food, and tickets for whatever’s on at the Everyman theatre. Then whichever of the excellent galleries or museums seems most appealing to your teens.

The British Music experience is fab, as is the world museum.
Head to Bold Street for food and quirkiness! We love Mowgli (and their tamarind chips)

Some great suggestions - thank you. Wish we had more time there now!

We're here at the mo for 4 nights. Love it here. Royal Albert Dock is fave with its shops and cafes, free interactive museums, and the ferry. Tour buses go from here too.

Liverpool is often overlooked as a tourist destination, loads to do often cheap too, Its also smack in the middle between North Wales and the Lakes as each is just over 1 hour away.

Lungelady · 23/04/2019 07:27

It is a fabulous city! We stayed on Hope Street...loved the bombed out church. We avoided the Beatles Mathew St stuff...but loved the John and Yoko exhibition .
Looking forward to revisiting

The two cathedrals are amazing, amazingly contrasting architecture
