Hi going to sherwood tomorrow and never been.
Plan to go early and look around before check in, but I only have a small car so planning to nip to Morrison’s once checked in. Would this be ok?
Any other advice???

We went last weekend ☺️ not sure where Morrison's is but tesco and Asda were both nearby - we did an online 'click & collect' order from Asda and collected it before we checked in.
If you're arriving between 10-3 you'll be given the villa keys but you won't be able to drive/walk to the villa until 3pm.
Once you've checked in you can drive out and in as often as you like, but be warned there will be a queue to get in throughout the afternoon at least.
Have a great time!

Thanks I just did a quick look at Asda/Tesco/Morrison’s and the latter came up to be only 3 miles away, and dh lives their fresh bread etc
Looking to go around 12 so probably not suitable for shopping before and leaving in car 🤢
Need to sort bikes and have a look around

I'd probably pop back out early evening then - just avoid any time near 3pm as lots of people aim to arrive about then so they can drive straight to the villa!
Cycle centre is right by the car park so you can park up and hire bikes straight away ☺️

MumMC23 · 17/02/2019 21:44

Sounds a good idea thanks can probably go around 4:30 then come back with fresh straight to the table for tea!!
Is there a small freezer section in fridge?
Was also gonna pick up a couple of dishwasher tabs from pound shop.
Is it worth getting some fire logs? I know they sell them in b&m x

Ours just had a small freezer section at the top of the fridge.
They provided 3 dishwasher tablets but we took our own just in case ☺️
And they only allow smokeless logs, they say they have to be purchased there but as long as they're smokeless it should be fine!

Lifeofa · 17/02/2019 22:21

The smokeless logs we got at Home & BArgain for 99p were the same as the ones for sale at Center Parcs for £3 each, you don’t need them for the fire for warmth in our experience it just made the evening seem more cosy.

NicoAndTheNiners · 17/02/2019 22:22

There's a Morrison's in Worksop and one in Mansfield but they're both more than 3 miles from CP I'd have thought?

winesolveseverything · 17/02/2019 22:24

They do give you a few dishwasher tablets to start you off- only a small dishwasher though- we had it on twice a day, so def take some with you..

They sell the exact fire logs you need in home bargains- next to the matches. They are individually wrapped. We've also taken normal logs, but it got a little smoky..

There's an ice cube compartment in the fridge. We've never taken frozen foods, just chilled stuff like chicken goujons, Pizza, and pre done spag bol etc..

Is there no way you can squeeze the food shop in before you get there? In foot wells of the car etc? There's so much going on, it'll be a pain to have to leave the site as soon as you get there. If you do have to go though- we were unloaded and driving back to the car park at 3:15pm last time as they opened the gates a bit before 3pm. So if you are primed and organised, you could whiz to the supermarket then and be back by 4:30. There won't be many cars queuing to get in then..

Have a great time 😃

MumMC23 · 17/02/2019 22:40

Just double checked on supermarket - was Tesco not Morrison’s 3 mile away!! Oops that would have been fun. Dh wants to go early look around etc but I vote go at 12 call somewhere for lunch then call at supermarket before heading over then it’s no messing around. Think it’s going to be quite warm next week so may give the logs a miss but will pick up dishwasher tabs - novelty for me!! Lol

Take what you need with you rather than go shopping once you get there. Including alcohol. Take food for an easy meal the first evening.
We usually get there as early as possible, park up and collect the keys, then go to the pool till they let you into the lodge. That way you've not wasted a day.
Then drive to your lodge, unload car and drive back to car park, driver has to walk back to lodge.

MumMC23 · 17/02/2019 22:54

I’m just a little worried if I take what we need including fresh food how long it’s going to last in the car whilst we wait to check in (looking at 3 hrs if dh gets his way?) already packed essential none fridge items

You're going to have a great time! I've been to this CP so many times over the years and are headed back again in March.

Let me know if you've any questions! There'll be a bit of building work going on as the new parts of the pool open on March 1st.

MumMC23 · 17/02/2019 23:16

Thanks I had seen works in new pool! Gutted to miss out on it by a couple of weeks but sure we will be back if we love it! Dds are already looking at doing archery, quads, High ropes and mini golf. Oldest dd is 14 so may get to use spa? And we are both looking forward to pancake house 😋 (not Dh or youngest dd thing!)

Have a fantastic time. If you might use one of the restaurants in the evening book in advance as they fill up quickly - especially at 'family friendly' times.

supadupapupascupa · 17/02/2019 23:38

Go to your villa an hour earlier. Every time we've been, we got our bikes and headed over to park them up. The cleaners ALWAYS let us in early. You won't need dishwasher tabs if you've got housekeeping

Torsz · 18/02/2019 06:31

Personally I'd go in early and not collect the shopping until later, but it's whatever works for you. If you do click and collect then you don't even have to go in the supermarket - and you can get to Center Parcs whenever you like, spend the day in there and when you've unloaded the car at your villa, just leave it parked up outside until you're ready to go to the shop. Then go and pick it up and either drive back to your villa with the car/shopping to drop it off, or if you've only got a small amount (e.g. if you only collect the chillded/frozen stuff) then you could leave the car in the car and walk to the villa.
Of course, if it's cold outside then the food might be fine in the car anyway!
