Hi been to Elvedon several times and love it but thinking of having a change. Don’t have a clue as to the lay of the land at Longleat, been told it is hilly in parts. My husband has Parkinson’s so uphill is a no no. Which area if we did do Longleat would be best please? Also thinking of having a 4 bedroom refurbished woodland lodge anybody tell me how spacious they are? The posher lodges with the games room are they ok for 21 yr olds or more suitable for teens? Thank you.

The lodges with the games room would be fine for a 21yr old.
The woodland lodges are nice and spacious, I don’t think the more expensive ones are any bigger (they’re just a bit posher).

I've been to longleat and elveden. Longleat is massive in comparison and hilly. But depends which area you stay in. There is a land train which gets you around the site. Both are great but my favourite is longleat

I prefer Elveden simply because Longleat is so very hilly. And I mean hilly!

Longleat v hilly. My dad has parkinsons no way could he manage it.

Longest is in 2 bits. The pool is up the hill and the sports place/lake is at the bottom. There is a land train but it's every 20 mins or so. I do like the hills as you feel you achieve something cycling up them, but not so great for the less mobile. We are going back to Elveden later in the year!

Elvedon smaller and much more relaxing as everything in one place and no hills!

Yeah I have to agree with everyone. Longleat
is lovely I really like the site. But it is very very hilly. The entire site is built on a slope. There is one road they recommend not cycling on as the gradient is so steep. Much more spread out than Elveden. If you look at the map and the main landtrain route the top is at the top of the hill and the bottom of the loop is the bottom and the straight road that run vertically down the middle of the map is the one they recommend not cycling down!

Longleat is very large and hilly, but if you're not bothered about going to the jardin de sports or Aqua sana then a villa near the plaza will be absolutely fine - and you can always get the land train or mobility vehicle. You book the latter in advance for a certain time and could use this to get down to the jds if you do want to go there once or twice.
Longleat is my favourite but it is a bit of an effort to get around if you're far away (eg in the Fir area).

Thanks everyone, I will return to Elvedon, we do love it there. Perhaps we will try a different type of villa. We usually stay in a 3 bed ex old style as they have a sauna, but they are really getting abit shabby. If we go-in the winter months we might be able to afford something better.
