Any recommendations for a stop/sightsee between Dorset and Cornwall? Ideally somewhere for lunch. I hear there are beautiful villages but I need a recommendation please? Hope someone can help :)

Finch Foundry is a National Trust property really conveniently located near Okehampton just off the A30. If you've time, check out the summer-house or a stroll up the River Taw. The tea-room menu can be served to take away if you want to top up your picnic.
Castle Drogo is another NT property which isn’t much of a detour. There’s a lovely two-hour round walk from Castle Drogo to Fingle Gorge along the River Teign.
Lifton Farm Shop and restaurant is also really convenient and a good place to stock up for your holiday.
