Oh will it just stop raining for a moment so I can have a summer holiday?

I know there are people in Yorkshire without homes at the moment - so this is a little self indulgent - but I've been on my much anticipated holiday to the UK (from NZ) for a week and a half now and it's not rained for about 3 hours the whole time.

Ds is very well informed about the social history of every town within 45 minutes drive of my parents house, but would love to go to the park.

Next week we are booked for a narrowboat - won't that be jolly?!

I have just looked at the bbc weather site...
two days of light cloud and then
TWO
BIG
ROUND
SUNS
where are you boating?

twentypence · 04/07/2007 17:11

Macclesfield of all places.

Where are those two round suns???? You've got to tell us and then we'll all converge on that town!

bakedpotato · 04/07/2007 17:16

Youmade me doubt myself. I just checked again... the suns are still there, looking a bit like this:
Lunnon, innit.

Saturday is nice in Macclesfield - unfortunately we go on Monday when it's all turned to custard again.

I think I'm a bit testy because I saw my Grandma today - and as she is 93 and I have no plans to come back anytime soon I know it's the last time I will see her alive - and as she isn't actually dying I felt it inappropriate to have a big goodbye, she did however say that she wouldn't see me again, gave me 30 quid to buy ds something nice and a hug and off she went.

'Saturday is nice in Macclesfield '

it's all a matter of opinion.

We got out today for a very wet walk on the Moors. But it didn't actually rain on us and we saw an amazing waterfall. But an hour of no rain in two weeks is taking it's toll on our parenting.

NOOOOOOO
I just checked the bbc weather site
and yes, the predicted two suns have turned into two frickin' clouds

twentypence · 13/07/2007 17:18

Quick update - it rained - a lot. But we had a lot of fun in a very British way with endless cups of tea and bacon sarnies in the boat.
