Something that would be nice for kids but nto the whole pricey babylistening malarkey. Anywhere in Dorset, pool would be nice, near beach would also be nice. Most grateful for any thoughts - see also my very dull baby carseat thread...

This hotel is in Bridport and has been recently "boutiqued": The Bull
Are you looking for something posh or would you be happy with guesthouse or farm accommodation - some of which can be quite upmarket?

krabbiepatty · 02/07/2007 14:08

Thanks Lilymaid, that looks worth a try. It doesn't have to be wildly posh but would prefer not very basic or very small-BandBish or indeed very Fawlty TowersQ

I've not been there but I think this place looks good:

Sorry no ideas but wondered why not Moonfleet? Thinking of booking for later in the year. Have you been?

krabbiepatty · 03/07/2007 13:06

Ah, that also looks interesting, thanks, Westcountrylass. I have been to Moonfleet and wasn't mad for it - partly because wasn't sure about the whole throw children in the creche thing and wasn't that keen on the actual creche), didn't think the pool was up to much and didn't like the way it was difficult to eat supper with your small children (not a fan of baby listening and there was no family meal / mealtime). But my view was probably coloured by running into two different ghastly couples knew from the past...

My SIL stayed at the Sandbanks with her kids and found it to be ok. The Harbour Heights is 'posher' but no pool.

We went to the Fowey one and also weren't keen on the whole set up, you are not alone!
