DH and I are taking our 22mth DS to Brighton for a couple of days this week. It was booked ages ago when we assumed the weather would be ok!! Can anyone recommend things to do with a toddler when the weather is horrible outside, and also, any child friendly restaurants. thanks

Tootsies is child friendly as a place to eat. So are all the Italian places. I can recommend Bills at the bottom of North Street. Foodie heaven. I love the Infinity Cafe in the North Laine too.

If the weather's really grim there are a couple of decent soft play areas but the good ones are not central.

The Pavillion is very beautiful inside but perhaps not great for a toddler.

There's a museum of toys down Trafalgar Street under the railway tunnel under Brighton Station.

There's also the Booth Museum on Dyke Road which is free. It's full of dead stuffed animals so not everyone's cup of tea perhaps.

I hope you get some decent weather.

Thanks NJ, we've got the aquarium on our list. SPider, where are the soft play areas? We'll have our car so distance is not too much of a prob if things get really bad weather wise!

Sorry smiling. I've onoy just seen this.
There's Funplex which is here ... Funplex. 1.68 miles. Unit 2B,The Hyde. Brighton BN2 4JE.

Then a bit further out, on the Lewes Road, the larger and slightly better IMO Monkey Business in the Cliffe Industrial Estate just off the A27 (by the big white cliff) the road going into Lewes.

I'm probably too late with this but hope you had a good week.
